Ravensara anisata Willowgrove:

Raven, as she's known, is the daughter and student of Aton's head healer. She is tall for a wood-elf with green eyes and black hair to her waist. She is the younger of Rodin and Aria Willowgrove's children. The youngest twin. When Raven and her brother were born Aria argued with her husband about naming their children. Rodin wanted to name them after plants in the hopes that they would follow in his footsteps and become healers. Aria was more in the hopes that they'd follow their own path like the animals of the forest and wanted to name them in that manner. For days they deliberated --- Fawn & Roe, Daffodil & Jonquil, Birch & Ash, Raven & Crow, on the last one Rodin paused and went to his Flora tomes on the wall. Ravensara anisata & Crowea saligna, Raven & Crow. Aria was satisfied.

Crowea, Crow, was a very precocious child. Raven was always taking over his punishments when he got in trouble for one thing or another. But in return, he would tell her where to find the rare herbs she needed. Crow had the same green eyes and softly waved hair as his sister, but although they looked the same, Crow was much more outspoken and full of laughter. Raven was always absorbed in her studies, and unlike Crow, she had the knack for growing and mixing herbs. He never enjoyed the herbs and often convinced his little sister to run off to play and neglect her work. It was only because of her pushing that he even learned to read and write common and dwarven. Together they learned Halfling, the language that their parent's didn't know.

As he grew older, Crow often amused his sister and mother with slight of hand tricks. For many years they enrolled him in the mage's acadamy in the center of the woodland city hoping he would find his niche. He did. Like everywhere else he went, people liked him. So while someone wrote his papers, Crow was off in the city learning bits of magic that would help him in the profession he'd chosen. Theivery. When he was finally caught, he ran home from the warrent and his expulsion from school. At home, Rodin locked his wayward child in his room and sent for the king's guard. A simple lock was no dificulty for Crow though and he was soon out. Raven had not seen her brother in over fifty years and as her best friend of 227 years walked into her room she was shocked. She threw her arms around her brother. Crow held her close for a moment and then pushed her away and gave her a parchment. He smiled at her and climbed out her window. Raven sat on her bed and opened the letter. It was written in the hafling language.

Dearest Ravensara,

I've gone and gotten myself into trouble, imagine that. I have to leave and although I knew father would not welcom me back in this manner, I had to see you. I'm off to the seaside and away from here. I'll miss you sis.

With love,
Crowea
P.S. I've left something for you in our old playplace.

Raven curled up in her bed and cried. The next day she went to the grove of willow trees that they used to play in. She opened the bundle she found at the bottom of the Ravensara thicket. It contained an expensive herb tome, a ginko pendant on a chain, and a dark jar full of a priceless rare root. She laughed at his folly and vowed to find him again someday. Twenty years have passed and Raven has finished her training. She's saved everything she could from the sale of her herbs and potions. Against her father's wishes, and to her mother's secret delite, she's leaving to find her twin. Following her vow, she's off to the sea.
